All have a variety of projects or classes going on throughout the year. Audition for a play or volunteer to help with stage sets.

Community Center:
Winter: Ice skating, skate rental, open hockey.
Summer: Rollerblading, Garden Show, County Fair

Community Education:
Has a variety of classes and activities. Just to name a few:
Winter sample of indoor activities and classes: aerobics, basketball, volleyball, walking, weightlifting, curling, open gym, weaving, basket making.

Lutsen Mountains Ski Area and Mountain Bike Center (20 miles from Grand Marais):
Winter: Downhill & cross country skiing, snowboarding. Equipment Rentals. Special, discounted, resident ski days. Discounted season passes.
Summer: Mountain Tram, Alpine Slide, Mountain Bike Park, Hiking Center, Horse Rentals.

Pincushion Cross Country Ski Center:
System of cross country ski trails, 5 minutes from town. Beginner to advanced. Summer: Great mountain biking trails and hiking.

Wilderness Outfitters:
Summer: Rent kayaks, canoes, camping gear and maps
Winter: Rent cross-country skis, snowshoes. Winter clothing and gear.

Grand Marais Public Pool:
Year around: indoor, large, lap pool, whirlpool, sauna. Discounted coupon booklets. (As part of our staff, free use of the pool, whirlpool and sauna at Aspen Lodge, or whirlpool-sauna at Cobblestone Cove Villas and Super 8.)

Sawtooth Mountain Clinic:
Variety of workshops: First Aid and Wilderness Medicine, Holistic Health Series.

Superior National Forest:
Summer and fall: Variety of Naturalist Programs.

Tennis Association:
5 open courts. Indoor lessons in the winter, in the school gym. Group or single lessons. Purchase reasonably priced rackets. Leagues, tournaments and open social nights throughout the summer-fall.

Golf: (mid-May through mid-October):
Grand Marais: 9-hole course, 5 minute-drive from town.
